One hundred and fifty years ago Vsevolod Garshin was born Garshin lived for thirty-three years. If we take out the not-so-plentiful daily newspaper work, drafts of unfinished works and a volume of letters (who didn’t write them?), then what remains of him is about a dozen stories, essays and fairy tales. One of them is remembered, it seems, by those who not only have not heard the name Garshin, but have not read the fairy tale itself. This is the Frog Traveler.
