Ariel Sharon's Kadima (Forward) party, which he created last November, has been described as a one-man party. According to many political scientists in Israel, the newly created centrist association will collapse immediately after Sharon retires. However, a poll conducted by the Haaretz newspaper shows that if parliamentary elections were held today, Kadima, led by acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, would receive 44 of the 120 parliamentary seats.
