The Georgian opposition predicts for Mikheil Saakashvili the fate of former President and ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR Eduard Shevardnadze: early political retirement. In the fall of 2003, Shevardnadze, who raised Saakashvili, Nino Burjanadze, Zurab Zhvania and other prominent representatives of the new generation of Georgian politicians, received an unexpected blow from them and was forced as a result of the “Rose Revolution” to leave the post of head of Georgia.
