Key components of RNA could be on all planets of the Universe While studying the origins of life, NASA scientists obtained in laboratory conditions close to space conditions, uracil, a chemical compound consisting of nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen and oxygen and is a key component of ribonucleic acids (RNA). It turned out that this “building” material, necessary for life, appears if ice containing pyrimidine is irradiated with ultraviolet light.
