The “Man of the System” has died
On Friday, October 1, at the age of 88, Georgy Arbatov, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, founder and director of the Institute of the USA and Canada of the USSR Academy of Sciences, died. An entire era is associated with his name not only in the development of domestic American studies, but also in the history of first Soviet-American and then Russian-American relations. Georgy Arkadyevich Arbatov was born on May 19, 1923 in the Ukrainian city of Kherson.
