15 years ago: the invasion of Georgia, the first successful and unpunished aggression of Putin&#039;s Russia against a sovereign state. Who then called a spade a spade, who came out to protest? (Below are a couple of statements from our archive.) The liberal opposition babbled about the &quot;damned ambiguity&quot;; its leftist allies in the fragile &quot;Other Russia&quot; coalition applauded the invasion.
