At least 20 horses died during an equestrian race in Kabardino-Balkaria

More than 200 horses and riders from all over Russia take part in the Caucasus Cup. The race started on September 24 in the village of Verkhy Baksan. There is no veterinary control at the distance, which threatens the health of the animals, and some horses could have been specially delivered “for slaughter.” At the same time, the organizers of the event are the Ministries of Sports of Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia. The run will last three more days, in total the participants will cover a distance of about 230 kilometers.
