From the Python programming language, the service words of Master (“master”) and SLAVE (“slave”) for reasons of political correctness will be removed. This was announced by the creator of the code Guido Van Rossum.
In the new version of Python 3.8, the term Master will be replaced by Parent/Main/Server (“Parent”/“main”/“server”), and SLAVE - on Child/Worker (“child”/“worker”).
Previously, the developers of the language were divided into two camps: someone believed that old words were associated with slavery and non-rights, others argued that these were only established terms, and their replacement could harm the correct work of the programs.
The terms of Master and Slave also appeared in the Django Framevorka found on Pythin. But in 2014 they were replaced by Leader (“Leader”) and Follower (“Subject”).
