Hello! This past week, the Kirovles case, filed against Alexei Navalny and Pyotr Ofitserov, was again brought to court - earlier the Supreme Court sent the case for a new trial, since the European Court of Human Rights found a violation of the right of the accused to a fair trial. Based on the results of the first consideration of the case, Navalny and Ofitserov were sentenced to five and four years in prison, respectively (the court of second instance replaced the actual sentence with a suspended one). Now the Ministry of Justice has paid Navalnaya compensation in accordance with the decision of the ECHR - more than 3.4 million rubles.
No freedom of assembly
Other activists themselves still owe large sums to the state: last week, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow fined Viktor Kapitonov 300 thousand rubles (for “repeated violation of the procedure for holding public events”) for an event in memory of the victims of Beslan at the State Duma and Roman Roslovtsev for a poster against the article 212.1 of the Criminal Code, which can be charged after several “repeated violations.”

A resident of Kaliningrad, Sevdar Musaev, was sentenced to three years in a penal colony for five-year-old videos posted on the social network VKontakte, in which the court saw a justification for terrorism. Musaev claims that he did not post these videos.
