In TrV-Nauka No. 15 (84) dated August 2, 2011, an article by Alexandra Borisova “It Should Have Ended” was published, telling about the scandal at the dissertation council meeting on June 29 at the Institute of Chemical Physics in Chernogolovka, where the dissertation candidate (Olga Kazheva) After being accused of plagiarism, he withdrew his work from defense until the voting results were announced. This case was widely discussed on the Internet, including on our website .
The editors learned that on July 21, the Noginsk City Court received and accepted for proceedings a statement of claim from O.N. Kazheva on the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation. The defendant is Professor R.N. Lyubovskaya, who informed the dissertation council about the textual matches she discovered in O.N.’s dissertation. Kazheva and a previously published review, authored by O.N. Kazheva is not).
The text of the literary review from Olga Kazheva’s dissertation and the text of the 2007 review , authored by B.A. Trofimov and N.K. Gusarov, are listed on the TrV-Nauka website. Review by Trofimov and Gusarova, which served as a source for O.V. Kazheva is mentioned in the thesis reference list as one of two references, number 7. Interested readers can analyze the coincidences between the two texts and form their own opinion about whether Kazheva’s review is plagiarism.
The plaintiff estimated moral damages and expenses incurred due to the fact that “... a situation arose in which the council, misled by the defendant, did not demonstrate its readiness to vote positively on the dissertation...” (original punctuation preserved) at 1 million rubles.
It should be noted that some time ago Olga Kazheva contacted our editorial office with a letter, the text of which is published in the sidebar. The editors invited the author of the letter to express his point of view in more detail, but so far there has been no comment from Olga Kazheva. TrV-Science is monitoring the development of the situation.
To the editors of the “Trinity Option” :
I earnestly and kindly ask you to immediately rebut the “plagiarism” and other slander against me reported in the article dated August 2 on pages 6-7. Otherwise, I reserve the right
prosecution of your magazine for libel (Article 129 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Plagiarism is a provable crime, and slanderous accusations of it are a criminal offense.I can give interviews about pensioners who are distraught with envy of my achievements - pseudoscientists who have lost (or never had) either scientific ethics or significant contributions to science. Adequate strong scientists do not engage in slander.
