One of the most amazing stories of the war, told by a resident of the city, is associated with the name of Danil Ivanovich Peshkov. By the time of the beginning of the war, he was a soldier. Its part was transferred to the Western Front as soon as it was open. Fate threw a simple Russian soldier into all the hottest points of the Second World War. In addition to the Order of the Red Banner, Danila Ivanovich has awards for the liberation of Prague, Warsaw, Budapest. With the hands of the same soldiers from the troops of the invaders, all of Europe was liberated. The relatives have a portrait written during the war. They did not find the canvas then, they were drawn on the fabrics from which they made footcloths. Today the veteran family brought this portrait to the building of the regional Philharmonic.
One of the inhabitants of the city brought a portrait of his grandfather, called up from the Ashgabat of the Turkmen Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Ismail Babaevich Akhmetov found war on adults. In 1942, at the age of 44, he signed as a volunteer for the front. As part of 381 of the Leningrad Division, he went through the whole war. He had 3 medals, participated in the liberation of Koenigsberg and Danzig. He ended the war in Berlin.
Another story is the story of the Shapkin family. Alexander Stepanovich began the war with the battle of Moscow. And he died a few months after the call. In one of the most cruel battles of the 20th century, many of our compatriots lost their fathers and brothers. His son vowed to avenge his father and signed up as a volunteer to the front. And he managed to fulfill his oath. Without injuries, he reached Berlin, while he did not spare himself in the fight against the invaders.
Many came to the action for the first time. One of the inhabitants of the city learned about his ancestors thanks to this action. On the website of the archive of the Ministry of Defense, he drove the data of his grandfather Dmitry Semenovich peasant and tracked the whole path that his ancestor went. This year, the portrait of Dmitry Semenovich replenished the ranks of the Immortal Regiment.
The procession in Vladimir ended on Victory Square by laying flowers and a parade. According to our estimates, about 25,000 people were present.
