The reasons for yesterday's missile attack on Tel Aviv are clarified. They are not at all in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Israel, as some conspiracyologists hint. Hamas, the terrorist government of Gaza, is trying to switch the agenda from the internal to the foreign policy. What could be better than war, even losing, so that people neglect the hardships of everyday life and once again rally around the defenders of their mythically beautiful future. So that they do not protest against the disgusting present.
A wave of mass protests swept yesterday in the morning through large cities of the Gaza sector. The demonstrators protested against the systematic delays of salaries, against a stunningly high level of unemployment, which, according to the latest data, exceeded 50 percent. The demonstrations took place in Jebalia, Khan Junis, Deir El Balach, the camp of Palestinian refugees El Bood and Rafahe. Hamas police and security service applied force against demonstrators , including firearms. The most fierce clashes with the police occurred in Jebalia and Deir El Balahe. The dozens of arrested and victims are reported. Journalists were forbidden to take pictures and shoot protest promotions on video.
Hamas accuses of incitement to the riots of his main political opponent - the Fath movement, headed by the head of the Palestinian administration in Judea and Samaria, Mahmud Abbas. But these political games are explanations at the level of kindergarten. Few people believe this. The cause of street protests is in the disastrous domestic policy of Hamas. The military-terrorist leadership of the Gaza sector is not able to solve either social, economic, nor humanitarian problems. This is not their profile. The only thing they really love and know how to do is organize anti-Israeli terror and pose before television cameras in camouflage, masks and with machine guns in pumped hands. This is their style, this is their life. The teenage level of intellectual development forms the policy of a half -million people, claiming state sovereignty.
Western and some Arab countries directly or through specialized UN programs provide gases sector with food, medicines, building materials, organize school education and healthcare. Israel supplies electricity to gas, and through intermediaries - money! The Gaza Palestinians have something like communism - you can not work and get everything you need.
The catch is only that the appetites of terrorists who have received power in Gaza are not less. They grow, which is quite natural for human nature. Western assistance was not enough. Therefore, to the final consumer in the gases of free blessings, it reaches less and less. How do such stories usually end? Quite true - protests. It is difficult to imagine a Western person, but easily - to any survivor in totalitarianism: in order to protest the street with terrorist regime, you must have a very strong motive and real courage.
This is exactly what happened on the morning of March 14 in the gas sector. Presumably, Hamas experienced despair and rage. The militant anti -Semitism suddenly ceased to be a national cross - people want to live and work with dignity. Hamas cannot provide them for two reasons. Firstly, in order to invest in the western money in the economy, we must abandon theft of humanitarian aid and destroy the debugged corruption system. Secondly, you will have to share power with those who can manage, build and plan the future. And then what to do the fighters of the terrorist front? Retraining to managers? This is strongly impossible.
Therefore, Hamas took a step tested before him in such situations by many other dictators. Military conflict - this is what the people will rally, distract him from sorrows and at the same time give the authorities the opportunity to use emergency measures. True, Hamas has no strength for a real war with Israel, but there will always be a one -time shelling of rockets. The super -task of the terrorists - to receive a response blow with as many victims as possible among their population. This will give a reason to call the Palestinians to unity in the face of the enemy and once again appear before the West in the image of an innocent victim, who is in need of financial subsidies and humanitarian assistance.
It is difficult to say whether this scheme will work once again. There is no doubt that the West will fork out. But will the disadvantaged Palestinians agree to further abandon the hope of a decent life in exchange for hatred of Jews? In the end, no matter how strong anti -Israeli propaganda is, Palestinians see perfectly well how successful the life of their Arab brothers in Israel, who have all civil rights, work, social support and even their representative office in the Knesset. The difference between democracy in Israel and a terrorist anarchy in Gaza is clearly visible to everyone. In the age of the Internet, it is already difficult to conceal.
Palestinians still have to solve the question: to stay further under the rule of Hamas or try to build a state convenient for life. Convenient for all Palestinians, and not just for the terrorist elite.
