Zerolines. "Marina"

The Zerolines project was conceived by the founders of Megapolis Mikhail Gabolaev and Oleg Nesterov in 2000, and gained its embodiment in 2016. In the Zerolines manifesto , Oleg Nesterov proclaimed that this is special music - improvisational, intuitive, played not by specific people, but of millennial musicians who were freed from the years accumulated for years. Under the Zerolines cap, musicians gave only three concerts; The first of them, held in the Moscow planetarium, collected a pile of enthusiastic reviews. Two years later, the experimental project returns - with the new composition of millennia musicians, new performances and new compositions, one of which you can hear right now:

Immediately after we presented Zerolines in the planetarium asan album of Megapolis , it came to understand that we need to return it to the framework of an independent project, as he was originally conceived. When we started our experiments in 2000, it was clearly clear that Zerolines were not a “megalopolis”. These compositions are not a song structure, they have a load base, this is music with a low horizon of events. There are too many differences.

This time we called to Zerolines the musicians with whom we began this project: the guitarist Maxim Leonov (“Quarter”, “Beasts”) and the drummer Oleg Ingozov - he plays the role of a bitmaker in the project. We invited a new participant - Kostyu Smirnov (“Moral Code”) to Zerolines , whose solo works I listened to from the time of Block Four . The drummer of Megapolis Anton Dashkin is responsible in the project for living drums and percussion. For two years we again entered this river for two years: we learned to play the first Zerolines , and this is extremely difficult to play intuitive music. At the same time, they were seized, and a lot of new music came to us.

In fact, this is another passage on the wheel of life.

We cannot play Zerolines on ordinary sites - in concert halls and clubs. We need a special space that will add this project. For ourselves, we decided that it is better to find a site than a planetarium in Moscow. In the performance “ Zerolines 2018” on October 30, we will use all the possibilities that the site provides: there will be a full -core projection and frontal projection. For the art director of the visual part of the project, as before, the artist Andrei Vradiy is responsible, and the video artist Alexei Choi will participate directly in Liva.

In Zerolines 2018, the old and new material will be equally. I have a concept of what will happen in a performance. I even drew her. She looks like a sand clock laid to one side, or an infinity sign.

The first Zerolines had an absolutely clear structure, which became clear to me after the first concert in the planetarium: “In Eastern Europe”-an introduction, “it is not here”-anxiety, “diamonds from the eyes”-loss, “turquoise”-death as a way out, “there is a 40-day throwing of the soul between heaven and earth,“ angels ”-the soul gets to where it should be.

The second part of Zerolines is a new story: a return to the origins, the birth of a new life, the inevitable loneliness during growing up, the meeting, the earthly love and love is unearthly, not afraid of earthly separation, then the state in which the body and soul begin to exist in complete harmony, and in the end - the sky as shelter. In fact, this is another passage on the wheel of life with a certain result.

In the second Zerolines there is a lot of poetry, which itself fell under the stream. After the music came to us, I took out my special folder and sorted out texts from it. So in Zerolines came: Jacques Prever, a French poet who is known to everyone as the author of “fallen leaves”, but this is a much more significant figure for French culture, Tonino Guerra, Alexander Blok and Konstantin Kedrov, whom I met not so long ago, but after his text “jumped” at Zerolines .

The appearance of a bitmaker in Zerolines is the part of the puzzle that we lacked so much. When Oleg Illiozov returned to us, everything fell into place. Not only does he have a special sense of time, he also hunts for sounds. His ear is “sharpened” to the sound of the environment. He writes on the recorder everything that sounds around, and makes “organic percussion” from this. Zerolines this was very missing: after all, an “organic” percussion is also a prepared accident, like the whole project.

A certain part of the performance in the planetarium will be occupied by non-music-zones with the prefix "anti-", in which there will be no music and projection. There will be something completely different. What exactly? I'll try to open the cards ...

A person can very aggravatedly feel the beauty of the world. The world every moment gives us such gifts that we do not notice. We could use them, and they could be very useful for us, but we pass by, because our perception channels are closed. In order for them to open, it is necessary to perform certain actions with a person’s consciousness. Which? I always tell such an example. On the 100th anniversary of John Cage in the center of Meyerhold, one of his Europer was performed: in the lobby, the parrot pulled tickets, and in the center of the auditorium stood six radiol and six opera singers. An old opera arias were started on the radio, the singers also sang arias, but in the sequence that the parrot from the lobby determined. They performed them at the same time - in an absolute sound mishmash. At first it was fresh and funny for the listeners, then they began to look for some meanings in what was happening, then the hall began to laugh, because some absurdity occurred. In the 30th minute, the people reached out of the hall, because it was a difficult test. In the 50th minute, six living sources of sound and six non-living ones suddenly coincided for a short time with each other. And those who remained (and I am among them) suddenly heard a few moments of the musical absolute - more amazing, strong and pure music I did not hear. In the first and third minutes of the concert, this would not have happened. This happened when work was done with the attention of man, when his channels were open - when every person who was present in the hall fought with the outside world for the truth and, as a result, found this truth.
