It came true! We have ceased to be a raw materials appendage and export exclusively oil and gas. Now we are exporting corruption. The United States has accused the automobile concern Daimler AG of distributing bribes and expensive gifts to foreign officials worth millions of dollars in order to conclude lucrative contracts. According to BFM, among the company’s Russian “clients” were representatives of the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the city authorities of Moscow, Ufa and Novy Urengoy. The total amount of kickbacks is $5 million. Now no one will say that Russia has no influence on world events! But this is not the most important thing. Kickbacks are common. But the Germans learned the ability to get along with the state no other way than in our fatherland. Daimler plans to pay $185 million to reach an out-of-court settlement with the prosecutor, the US Department of Justice. So to speak, the final rollback, however, is no longer for profit, but for freedom. Who said she's not worth it? So Siemens last December agreed to pay a fine of $1.3 billion for stopping corruption investigations in the US and Germany. So it’s not always that what’s good for a Russian is death for a German. Sometimes we coincide!
