The military victory over Ukraine was not impressive, which is why the thunder of the orchestras should drown out any doubts about the correctness and heroism of domestic militarists. In fact, what impression should the capture of Ukrainian military units in Crimea make on a normal person, when women and children walked ahead of Russian soldiers and mummered Cossacks? So that Ukrainian military personnel do not decide to shoot at the invaders! What kind of brave heroes are these who hide behind women and children as human shields? Cowards, and that's all.

And the entire seizure of Crimea is pure looting. For more than twenty years, post-Soviet Russia unconditionally recognized Crimea as Ukrainian territory, and as soon as unrest began in Ukraine, the government weakened and ceased to focus on Russia, and the Kremlin marauders immediately began to fuss. Suddenly it turned out that Crimea is a holy Russian relic.

Then there was no need to be shy at all. Ukrainian military vessels should be declared trophies and included in the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Seize all Ukrainian state property in Crimea. Crimea itself should be annexed to Russia. Occupation as occupation.

The occupiers, as always, are cynical. In April 2010, in Kharkov, President Medvedev signed an agreement with Ukraine providing for a discount of one hundred dollars on the price per thousand cubic meters of gas. In exchange, Ukraine extended the lease of the Russian naval base until 2042. Now Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov says: “There is no such thing as a gas discount for Ukraine for basing the Black Sea Fleet. Now it cannot be applied either de jure or de facto.” In fact, if we captured the entire Crimea, along with our base, then why give discounts now? Agreement? What the hell kind of contract! Now everything is ours! The same Dmitry Medvedev declares that the “Kharkov Agreements” are subject to termination, and Russia may, in connection with this, demand another 11 billion dollars in compensation from Ukraine. It must be understood that this is compensation for the discounts provided, since, as it has now become clear, Crimea has in fact always been Russian, Ukraine owned it illegally and Russia gave discounts in vain.

The Kremlin's logic is not all right. Yes, they don’t need her. They need fireworks, orchestras, tears of tenderness and sovereign pathos. The more feelings, the fewer thoughts. No one can really substantiate their claims to Crimea. The simpler people stubbornly insist that they are ours. This is quite enough for simpler people to realize that they are right. Propagandists moan more sophisticatedly through patriotic sobs that Crimea, and especially Sevastopol, are the places of our military glory. So many Russian soldiers died here! “Crimea is a symbol of Russian military glory and unprecedented valor,” says Vladimir Putin in justifying the annexation. Past military victories and defeats in Crimea, acquisitions and losses seem to give Russia the right to own Crimea. We've suffered for so long and it's all in vain? It’s as if a thief made many attempts on your wallet, sometimes successfully, sometimes not, and even sat in prison for it and silently envied you, and then, taking advantage of some weakness of yours, took away your wallet, justifying himself by saying that he was for it. suffered for a long time and greatly.
