Weller scales

If anyone doesn’t know how much people can be killed for the sake of a bright future, ask Weller. He's a writer, he knows. In the Edge of the Week program on Echo, he explained to unwitting listeners that the massacre carried out by Chinese communists in Beijing's Tiananmen Square in 1989 was an adequate response to civil protest. Severe, but adequate. Otherwise, as Mikhail Weller knows for sure, China would have gone into chaos and lost many more lives. So there is nothing to regret.

It's good when a person has the scales of history. You can weigh human destinies and find out exactly when and who can be sacrificed. A thousand here, a million here. Underweight here, overweight there.
