Summer is always expected to be impatiently. The soul and body are tired of our freezing, humid climate, I want to rejoice with the nature of the cloudless sky, accept the amount of ultraviolet radiation for the body, admire the picturesque expanses of water bodies and again comprehend the secrets and greatness of thick pure forests.
Unfortunately, not always and not for all the summer months - a fertile period, but the temperature of this summer, according to weather forecasters, had completely broken records over the past century.
Usually in the summer months, medical institutions, we can say, are not popular. Forgetting about all their ailments, people rush to the cottages, in the forests, and the desire to merge with nature is sometimes stronger than common sense. But this summer, due to the continuous heat in conjunction with humidity, under the influence of the so-called “greenhouse effect”, people began to get sick more often and doctors do not have to rest.
From the conversation with the acting chief physician of the ambulance station I.P. Varakin found out that today the workload of doctors is higher than usual. Over the past week, the number of ambulance calls ranges from 167 to 233 per day. On ordinary days, approximately 200 people turn to the ambulance. Ilya Varakin emphasized that “in the structure of incidence in the first place - an exacerbation of cardiovascular diseases, angina pectoris, arrhythmias, cardiovascular insufficiency, hypertension. Many challenges on the streets and beaches. ”
Every day in the city, 15 vehicles of the 03 service, which are accompanied by doctors, “station wagons” are on duty. To date, the first -aid kit of the ambulance is equipped with all kinds of drugs and medicines.
Continuing a conversation with the doctor, I asked the same, in my opinion, an important question: “Why does the ambulance not come as fast as we would like?” And that's what turned out. Under labor legislation, the driver's day should not exceed 12 hours, so it turns out that frequent shifts are deprived of the painful and suffering five carriages of the ambulance around the clock. Although, according to the calculations of the drivers themselves, they are located directly at about 4.5-5 hours, and they repeatedly raised the question of resolving the working hours, but for some reason the labor inspectors do not consider this problem, which, perhaps, is worth someone of life ...
The second reason for which the doctor is delayed is outside the human factor. From 19 to 23 hours - "Risk time." The biorhythms of our body in the evening weaken, and people are more prone to a deterioration in well -being in the evening. There are more calls, there are not always enough cars, and then experienced dispatchers decide who to provide emergency medical care first of all: a young person who received a thermal blow, or seriously injured in the place of traffic accident.
A special theme of our conversation is at the water. Ilya Pavlovich Varakin regretfully noted that vacationers cannot always and can provide first aid to the drowned. The reason for this is our squeamishness and indifference. But in 90 % of cases, if you make artificial respiration and heart massage in time before the arrival of the ambulance brigade, the victim can be removed from a state of clinical death. The doctor’s remark and that drinking alcohol on the beach is simply unreasonable is not unacceptable.
At the end of our conversation, Dr. Varakin gave several good tips:
And also the medical personnel have such an important service for us one request: “Drivers, please skip the ambulance with the lighthouse turned on. After all, maybe this time they are in a hurry to help your loved ones.
