Sergey Matveev is the champion of Russia!

In Moscow, on the Olympic Canal in Krylatskoye, the championship and championship of Russia among boys and girls in rowing was held.

The greatest success was achieved by Sergey Matveev, who became the champion of Russia as part of the eight. Among the adults, Anton Koval also started in the singles, who, after the preliminary heats, made it to the small final, where places from 7 to 12 were played out. As a result, Koval took ninth place.

The first round of the Russian football championship among teams of the II division in the "West" zone has ended.

The last matches of the football club "Pskov-2000" played on the road. The first rival of the Pskovites was the Vologda "Dynamo" - a team that has been declaring its claims for promotion to the first division for several years. In the match against the Pskov team, the home team tried to reduce the gap of seven points to a minimum. But our players didn't let them do it, and what's more, in the 79th minute Dmitry Sachkov's accurate shot into the far top corner turned out to be fatal for the Dynamo goalkeeper. 1:0 and Pskov retained its leading position.

The next rival of FC Pskov-2000 was Yaroslavl Neftyanik, which occupies a place in the middle of the standings. Any team plays against the leader with a special attitude. Yaroslavl in a terrible heat tried to give battle to the Pskovites. The outcome of the fight was decided by one accurate shot by Vyacheslav Volkov in the 73rd minute. Having won the eighth victory in a row on the road, after the first round, the Pskovites lead the standings for the first time in their history. FC "Pskov-2000" is the only team in our zone that does not know defeat.

Chess

In the midst of the July heat, a traditional international chess festival was held in Velezh (Smolensk region).

More than 100 chess players from the Belarusian cities of Vitebsk, Mogilev, Orsha, Polotsk, as well as Smolensk, Kursk, Velikiye Luki and the Moscow region became its participants. Pskov was represented at this tournament by nine pupils of the Brigantina sports school under the guidance of a coach, international master Natalia Polyakova. The festival included four independent tournaments. Coaches and juniors played in the main. The best result among the Pskov team was shown by Natalya Polyakova herself, who scored 4 ½ points out of 7 possible. Artem Fedotov also showed a good result, half a point behind the coach.

Tatyana Danilova showed a good result among the youngest, she scored 3 ½ points out of 7 possible. The young girl from Pskov made her debut at competitions of this level.
