No one except us

On the eve of the 71st anniversary of the formation of the air - landing troops, a solemn meeting was held in 104 regiment of the 76th Guards Division. Veterans of the regiment, deputies of the regional assembly, and the public of the city came to congratulate the winged infantry.

The official date of birth of the paratroopers - August 2, 1930, when, under Voronezh, during the exercises of the Moscow Military District, 12 paratroopers took off to the rear of the "enemy". In the late 80s of the past century, the number of landing troops reached eighty thousand. The “blue berets” have many glorious deeds. And now, a large unit from the 104th regiment performs a combat mission in Chechnya. The fighters remaining in the regiment are intensely preparing for operations in the "hot" points of the country

The command of the division congratulated officers and soldiers on the upcoming holiday, they were waiting for a lot of pleasant surprises. Many gratitude were announced, a monetary prize has been appointed, vacation has been extended, there is also a promotion, the most distinguished fighters will be photographed by a military banner. The guests of the regiment did not remain in debt - they also handed gifts to the guards.

There were many memories that evening: the death of the 6th company remained in the hearts of paratroopers in the hearts of paratroopers. Reserve officer Viktor Chizhikov, a former commander of the 104th regiment, noted with bitterness:

• We exploit the high military spirit too much. There are unreasonably many of our comrades - we need an analysis of errors. Perhaps one of the reasons is insufficient combat training. I went through Afghanistan and I can tell how we prepared for the fulfillment of the combat missions of paratroopers. Now, in connection with the collapse of the economy, there is no quality training.

A lot has been done on the territory of the regiment to perpetuate the memory of the dead paratroopers: the alley of glory was planted, a chapel was built, a museum was created. All this is aimed at raising young soldiers. The relay of the feat is now moving to them. After all, the motto of the winged infantry: "No one except us."
