Trial under Article 282 in Veliky Novgorod

The publication "In the beginning there was a word. Abusive" in "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" is dedicated to the trial that began in Novgorod in the case of anti-Semitic publications in the newspaper "Russkoye Veche". The defendant is the editor-in-chief of the newspaper and the leader of the local branch of the NDPR, Vadim Ivanov. As an example of anti-Semitic statements, "RG", with appropriate reservations, quotes the following passage: "The Jew Prusak dragged his protege into the mayor's chair," and it is also reported that the "Russian Veche" assessed the reform of housing and communal services as the last point of the "Ziono-Jewish" government.

The author of the publication, Elena Yakovleva, formulates her position unambiguously: “The internal reaction to such stories is always close to disgust. The feeling struggles between the desire not to mention such things at all and, on the contrary, the hope that the court will sort it out, and we will finally be able to speak publicly their attitude towards such a thing.

It is not entirely clear, however, why the correspondent cannot "pronounce" this attitude without a reason. In addition, it is strange that the commentary to the informational message is not dedicated to the process itself, but to criticism of the regional governor Mikhail Prusak.
