On July 19 and 20, on the eve of the main anniversary celebrations, Boris Nemtsov, leader of the Union of Right Forces, visited Pskov. At a press conference, he bluntly stated that his visit was connected with the forthcoming nationwide Russian fun this year - deputy elections.

The leader of the SPS, despite the week-end, was received by the governor of the region and the mayor of Pskov, in response he praised them for the fact that "Pskov has become warmer and kinder."

PAI reported that Yevgeny Mikhailov and Boris Nemtsov discussed the problem of the region's public utilities, in particular, the situation with housing and communal services in Velikiye Luki, during which the governor, as you know, publicly opposed the Velikiye Luki City Duma and personally its chairman Lidia Golubeva.

An associate of Anatoly Chubais said that according to the data that he was told (there is an assumption that the information was provided by the Pskov Union of Right Forces), the second most important city in the region is very close to “finding itself in the same situation as Primorsky Krai several years ago, when the life support system went out of order. According to Boris Nemtsov, the city of Velikie Luki is threatened with "a real communal catastrophe if the relationship between the city administration and the city Duma is not put in order." To all appearances, Boris Nemtsov's and Yevgeny Mikhailov's assessments of the situation in Velikiye Luki coincided.

But it was not this protracted conflict that attracted the most attention of the press and caused a resonance in the political community. Boris Nemtsov spoke rather sharply about State Duma deputy from the Pskov region Mikhail Kuznetsov: “I don’t notice him. Not because my eyesight is bad, but because, in my opinion, he is a person of little influence in the Duma,” said the leader of the “right”.

Evaluating the work of Mr. Kuznetsov, Boris Nemtsov immediately stated that, in his opinion, and in accordance with the "position of the party", the State Duma deputy from the Pskov region should be "right" (read - from the Union of Right Forces). And then he continued: “I think that Dmitry Matveev could well be him (a State Duma deputy), I am ready to help him in every possible way.”

It is not known to what extent this loud statement was agreed with Dmitry Matveev himself, whose parliamentary ambitions have not yet been advertised so widely. Boris Nemtsov, in turn, is known for his manner of "free speech", for which he has repeatedly been sharply criticized by his own party members.

However, the word is not a sparrow, flew out. Dmitry Matveev himself did not comment on the statement of the party patron.

According to some experts, the question of a candidate for deputy in a single-mandate constituency could also well be the subject of an exchange of views between B. Nemtsov and E. Mikhailov. It has already been suggested (not shared by everyone) that the participation of D. Matveev in the elections in the 141st district reduces the chances of M. Kuznetsov to win, since there is much in common in the image and type of both politicians. And, consequently, the administration of the region is indirectly interested in the participation of D. Matveev in the parliamentary elections in order to draw some of the votes from M. Kuznetsov. And nothing unites like a common enemy.
