Gennady Zyuganov stood up for the Russian people

On August 12, the newspaper "Soviet Russia" published the text of Gennady Zyuganov's answers to questions from voters from the Moscow region. The note contains a section "Russians as a great nation are not needed by the current government," which, in particular, says:

* "Russians are like a people on the edge of the abyss. They are dying out faster ... It is obvious that the current government is afraid of the Russian spirit, the Russian will, the ability to gather and rise. That is why Russians are expelled and forced out of key areas of life - business, finance, management, mass media.

When people ask me why Putin’s message to the Federal Assembly doesn’t contain a word about national politics, they ask me why the authorities don’t have this very national policy, I answer bluntly: they have such a policy ... Only its name is impudent and cynical Russophobia. The Russians, as a great nation, a state-forming people, a people - the bearer of the ideas of friendship, justice and brotherhood, are not needed by the current government.

It is not entirely clear how this statement differs from the unloved "Soviet Russia" Zhirinovsky , who declares that "the Russian people are the foundation of Russia ... If the Russians live well in Russia, then it will be good for other peoples here" (Soviet Russia. July 26) .
