The President and Government of the Russian Federation are against nationalist election campaigning

On September 4, a message was published that Vladimir Putin spoke out against the use of nationalist slogans in election campaigning: "Nationalism and chauvinism in election programs is the simplest and most harmful thing. This is a false thesis, absolutely unacceptable in such a multinational country as ours.. This is all the more unacceptable during the election campaign ," the president said in a television interview.

At the same time, information was published that the Government was preparing a decree on measures to facilitate the holding of parliamentary and presidential elections in Russia. In particular, it is assumed that the Government will instruct the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Press "to suppress extremist and illegal propaganda activities, including those that incite social, racial, national, religious hatred and enmity" .
