If it continues like this, then in ten years the ethnic composition of the region will change radically, and with the slightest destabilization of the situation, we can get a new Chechnya in the Kuban." ...

"In an effort to win their place under the Kuban sun, migrants who have arrived in the region settle in whole ethnic communities. Tenaciously grow into a new place, build expensive mansions, buy up land. And everything would be fine, but the" new Kuban "introduce unhealthy elements of rivalry into the measured life of the region, they try to impose their customs and customs. Groups united by ethnicity seize local markets, accustom young people to drugs, draw young people into criminal business ... "*.

A special topic for the governor is the Meskhetian Turks: "After the well-known events in Ferghana, by a decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of June 26, 1989, they were assigned places of residence in the Non-Black Earth Region and in a number of regions of Central Russia. And suddenly 13,500 Meskhetian Turks, like snow on The Kuban people were sympathetic to the settlers and helped them at first. They thought that the "guests" would soon set off on their own. No such luck... Now they, following the orders of their leaders, are demanding Russian citizenship. "But this question is not within the competence of the regional authorities. And the Kubans no longer want to tolerate neighbors who live in isolation, remain strangers. The way out is seen in the resettlement of the Meskhetian Turks to their historical homeland - to Georgia or, if they wish, to Turkey. "

At the same time, the governor of Kuban does not believe that he himself provokes national conflicts with such speeches. On the contrary, he believes that the situation is being destabilized, in particular, by human rights activists, “who defend the rights of everyone and everything, except for the right of a Russian person to be the master of their land. Measures to identify illegal migrants are categorically declared “ethnic cleansing.” Kuban Cossacks who restore order in their home, are called "racists"" .

It is interesting to observe the attempts of the Krasnodar governor to master "non-ethnic" rhetoric. So far, however, he has been unsuccessful in doing so. Probably, in his opinion, an "illegal migrant" is not a very specific object for "putting things in order." And here, demographers' data, and arguments about the patriotism of the "indigenous population" and social problems that are easy to project onto "newcomers" will come in handy. At the same time, of course, it is absolutely useless to mention that the majority of "illegal migrants" cannot become "legal" due to the administrative arbitrariness of local authorities. Moreover, there is no need to say it in the government newspaper.

Separately, it can be recalled that the Meskhetian Turks, like all citizens of the USSR who lived in Russia at the time of the collapse of the Union, are legally citizens of Russia. So the question is not at all in granting them citizenship, but only in the execution of documents.
