The administration of the Voronezh region is looking for ways to encourage entrepreneurs to donate to the temple

During the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of St. Mitrofan of Voronezh, issues of the formation of the fund's resources and information support for the completion of the Annunciation Cathedral, which the regional administration declared "people's construction" were considered. The heads of administration departments reported on the results of negotiations with entrepreneurs. According to them, they constantly have to face difficulties when trying to convince businessmen to donate to the temple.

Vice-Governor Arkady Mozhaitov said that letters had been sent to entrepreneurs and repeated calls were being made, but still "things are going hard." However, according to the official, no one forces businessmen to allocate money, they are only "convinced, persuaded." A. Mozhaitov "has outlined the amount for himself - 1 million rubles", half a million has already been collected, and in a couple of months, the official is sure, the required amount will be collected.

On the whole, they state in the regional administration, “among small businesses, trust in the Church has been completely lost,” and restoring this trust is one of the tasks of the St. Mitrofan Foundation.

Let us recall that earlier the mayor of Voronezh, Alexander Kovalev, unsuccessfully urged city officials to send their monthly salaries to the Fund.

In November, the authorities found a new way to boost the St. Mitrofan. It was announced that the names of the donors would be entered in the Synod of the Cathedral under construction. A. Kovalev called the synodik a "book of memory" where the children and grandchildren of benefactors can look. Members of the Board of Trustees of the restoration of the cathedral also proposed to establish a joint award of the Voronezh region and the diocese in order to recognize the largest donors.

Employees of the state bank responded to the calls of the authorities. In February 2004, the chairman of the Central Black Earth Bank of the Sberbank of the Russian Federation, Alexander Solovyov, said that the bank's staff "almost all contributed to the construction of the Annunciation Cathedral."
