Sergei Mironov about the national idea

On November 19, Literaturnaya Gazeta published an interview with Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov, dedicated to the search for a national idea (note that the newspaper did not give any indication that the hero of the interview was an active participant in the Duma election campaign).

We admit that this is the most intelligible of all the pre-election materials of the "Party of Life - Party of the Revival of Russia" bloc. Probably, S. Mironov will not refuse this text in his new capacity as a presidential candidate.

So, according to the speaker, " the acquisition of a national idea is of crucial importance for the country... Today, the national idea is an image of a worthy future for Russia" [highlighted in the text - *ed. ]. This image is that Russia should not remain on the margins of the world, since this " "not only does not take into account our cultural and historical basis, it is directly aimed at its destruction, complete subordination to other models . The image provides for a decent life, individual freedom and a society of social justice. "Unlike the West, the world of money, benefit, benefit, a world where the cult of success at any cost reigns, Russia has always relied on the tradition inherent in our people of the priority of spiritual values ​​over individual ones" (? - ed. * ) .

The national idea should be, on the one hand , "a concentrated expression of the strength of mind and willpower of society, and on the other hand, a criterion for evaluating all the ideas, concepts, plans, programs proposed to society, a criterion for practical activity and the results achieved by political parties of the results" [journalist's wording - ed . . ], and should also carry some general guidelines. According to S. Mironov, "today such landmarks ... - *COMMON CAUSE and COMMON GOOD" [as in the text - *ed. ] (Compare with the program settings of the "People's Party").

Mironov's national idea has three components, firstly, the highest spiritual value - the value of human life; secondly, "Russian society must become a society of free individuals" ; thirdly, social justice.

These components must be supported by a strong state, since only with it "the inhabitants of Russia can pin their hopes on building a worthy image of the future of Russia", and "from the meaning of the national idea (!!! - ed .) should follow: the preservation and all-round protection of Russian statehood everyone's business" [emphasis added in the text - ed. ].

There is such a way to analyze an obscure text - the composition and number of words used in it are analyzed. Of the most used, a sentence is compiled, which is considered the main idea expressed by the author. We invite our readers to do this with S. Mironov's speech. We tried, but very rudely. We got the following: the most frequently used words are "national idea" (19 times), "Russia" (12 times), "country" (15 times") and "life" (9 times). life in the country of Russia".
