The processes of globalization taking place at the end of the 20th millennium, as well as the "reduction" of the globe, the sharp increase in inter-civilizational contacts have exacerbated not only the problems of world leadership, material dominance, but also spiritual rivalry. Inter-religious competition and advertising of "their own" religions have appeared and are becoming more and more visible. Obviously, this kind of "dueling" and the spirit of a religious "tournament" are rather a remnant of the medieval worldview and are more characteristic not of the traditional clergy proper, but rather of the sectarian periphery of world religions and the near-religious intelligentsia. This global trend in relation to Russian reality is, unfortunately, acquiring especially exaggerated, even caricatured forms. A significant part of the population, and, therefore, its intellectual part, has become "religious", i.e. began to actively self-identify in their inherited religious cultures.
