On February 21, 2004, a 24-year-old student of the Voronezh State Medical Academy, a citizen of Guinea-Bissau, Amar Lima, was killed in Voronezh. In the city hospital, the student died without regaining consciousness from a penetrating wound in the chest area.
On March 17, 2004,suspects in the murder of an African student were detained. In September 2004, the killers were sentenced . On January 19, 2005, the Supreme Court of Moscow upheld the verdict of the Voronezh court
