Rally of foreign students in St. Petersburg

On March 14, 2004, a rally of foreign students took place in St. Petersburg. They went out into the street with posters: "We risk our lives", "We came to study, but we return in coffins?" and etc.

The action was a response to the killing of Syrian citizen Abdalnader Albadav Mahamed Mamun . In the lobby of the Polytechnic University there is a photograph of the deceased in a mourning frame. Many visitors are going to return to their homeland.

The university administration sent a letter to the governor of St. Petersburg, Valentina Matvienko, demanding to find and punish those responsible.
