Freedom Party activists detained

On March 16, 2004, activists of the Freedom Party were detained in Izhevsk, including participants in the beating of a group of Izhevsk anti-fascists. Earlier, at the session of the State Council of the Udmurt Republic, held in February 2004, in response to a question from deputy Tikhonov, prosecutor Sarnaev stated that it was a domestic fight.

Only after the article about the beating was published in the Izvestia newspaper and the information was heard in NTV and REN-TV reports, did the capital's inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrive in Izhevsk, and law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case.

On March 16, 2004, the party held a picket in the city center "in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in the Moscow metro demanding the deportation of all illegal immigrants from Russia . " About ten people were arrested at the rally. Party leader Alexander Schneider resisted the arrest. The activists of the party were detained by law enforcement officers on March 14, 2004.

Since November 2004, trials have been going on in the case of the beating of a group of Izhevsk anti-fascists (the defendants are Schneider's deputy Yan Krasnovsky and three of his fellow party members).

On February 3, 2005, Alexander Schneider was charged with inciting ethnic hatred.
