The spiritual leaders of Bashkortostan appealed to the president of the republic in connection with the growth of prostitution in the region

Archbishop Nikon (Vasyukov) of Ufa and Sterlitamak, Chief Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin, Chairman of the Central Department of Music of Russia and the CIS countries, Nurmukhamad Nigmatullin, Chairman of the Central Department Store of the Republic of Bashkortostan, addressed an open letter to the President of the Republic M. Rakhimov. The letter expresses concern about the spread of prostitution in Bashkortostan. The authors of the letter believe that this happened due to the connivance of law enforcement agencies and "advertising prostitutes with impunity" in free newspapers.

“Prostitution is still a criminal offense,” the letter says. “So why, with the connivance of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Press and the Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Belarus, in the newspapers Extra in Bashkortostan, Express and Good Morning - Advertising Newspaper" openly advertised a criminal offense?!"

Spiritual leaders of the region reported that the believers were outraged by the propaganda of fornication and urged M. Rakhimov to intervene personally and point out to the leadership of law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Press of Bashkortostan the inadmissibility of "indulgence of prostitution and its advertising in the local media."
