Beer advertising is the enemy of patriotism

President Putin's statement that war has been declared on Russia prompted many publications with recommendations to Russian citizens and the government in "wartime conditions."

One of them comes from State Duma deputy Alexander Fomenko. We present the content of his letter, published on September 15, 2004 in Literaturnaya Gazeta, without changes, so that readers can appreciate the brilliant logic and high patriotic impulse of a member of the Motherland faction.

For starters, stop advertising beer on television and in the press. For no advertisement of this kind contributes to the education of people who are ready for a hard and constant struggle.

Stop promoting "safe sex", "soft contraception" and other methods of "family planning". And at the same time launch an equally persistent public service campaign against the legalized killing of babies in the womb. With four million abortions a year, we will never be able to leave the "club of dying nations" and become a country ready not only to fight, but also to win.

After all, today only we and our friends and allies are dying out. But the peoples supplying personnel for the terrorist international do not consider raising the standard of living the only condition for the birth of children - their women simply give birth to more and more fighters.
