On the night of October 14, 2004, a student of the Leningrad Polytechnic University Wu An Tuan was killed in the Petrogradsky district of St. Petersburg.
Wu An Tuan was attacked at around 11:30 pm in the square at the intersection of X-ray and Leo Tolstoy streets. A group of teenagers dressed in all black attacked the foreigner (according to eyewitnesses, there were about 20 of them).
A 14-year-old teenager kicked a student in the stomach. The victim fell to the ground, and then the attacker stabbed Wu An Tuan several times. Another participant in the attack inflicted at least 4 blows on the Vietnamese with a sharpened screwdriver. Three more teenagers began to inflict multiple blows with knives each on different parts of the body.
One participant in the attack hit the Vietnamese with a glass bottle on the head, the rest were beaten with their hands, feet, and one of them with a soldier's belt on various parts of the body. In total, the victim received 37 stab wounds.
The attackers fled the scene. The death of a Vietnamese student came from a large loss of blood.
