The Supreme Court of the Kirov Region ordered deputies to cancel the fine for imposing religious beliefs

The Supreme Court of the Kirov Region obliged deputies of the Regional Legislative Assembly to exclude from the regional law "On Administrative Responsibility" an article that provides for a fine of 5-10 times the minimum wage for imposing religious beliefs. The court found in this provision a violation of the constitutional norm on freedom of religion.

Article 3.11 "On pestering citizens with the aim of imposing religious beliefs" was introduced into the law in July 2003 .
