On November 6, 2004, Komsomolskaya Pravda published another "conceptual" article by ex-Yabloko leader Mikhail Yuryev under the characteristic title "The Internal Enemy and the National Idea." In it, the author barely veiledly called for discrimination against all ethnic groups and confessions living in Russia, with the exception of Russians and Orthodox.
We will not dwell on the analysis of the article. We only note that the internal enemy, of course, is defined by the author, and the national idea is formulated. It is impossible not to admire the diversity of the author's conceptual approaches. proposed by Yuryev a few months earlier This version of the national idea differs significantly from the concept of autarchy , as the optimal form of existence for Russia.
Let us dwell on only one aspect of the current version of the national idea according to Yuryev. In his opinion, "Russia is and should be a Russian Orthodox state. This means that the system of values and role models for Russia has its origins in the Russian nation and in the Orthodox faith, and their position in Russia is special, like the Russian language. Development and strengthening , i.e., the interests of the Russian nation and the Orthodox faith, which by and large are one and the same thing, is a special task for Russia, more important than the interests of other Russian nations and religions, although they are also important for us ... The interests of nations are not Russian are indifferent to us and can only be taken into account in any international trade. This does not mean that we should somehow discriminate against foreigners or people of other faiths ... But it does mean, for example, that Russia can and should establish Russian national and Orthodox holidays, but not others - and whoever is offended by this may well not celebrate them .
