The Union of the Russian People is being re-established

The appeal of the Coordinating Council, adopted at the meeting, announced the decision to recreate the Union of the Russian People, which is the successor of the imperial Russia organization of the same name, and also formulated the goals and main tasks of the social movement. "The movement sets itself the goal of rallying the state-forming Russian people for the revival of a single and powerful State, the creation of a strong and capable government, an effective productive economy ." The appeal clearly states that the spiritual core of Russian civilization is Orthodoxy, and therefore the movement in its activities will be guided by the values ​​and ideals of Orthodoxy, without rejecting the possibility of cooperation with representatives of other faiths.

A public organization called the "Union of the Russian People" already existed in Volgograd in the 90s, headed by Stanislav Terentyev, editor-in-chief of the Kolokol newspaper, who has been tried for several years to be prosecuted for "inciting ethnic hatred " .
