I. Shangareev complained to V. Kolesnikov about law enforcement officers oppressing Muslims in the Orenburg region

On December 29, Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Orenburg Region, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ismagil-Khazrat Shangareev met with Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolesnikov.

I.Shangareev told the Deputy Prosecutor General that in the Orenburg region, law enforcement agencies are committing arbitrariness against local Muslims. The situation worsened after the change of the police chief. Women dressed in Muslim clothes are thrown out of the transport, Muslims coming to Orenburg from the villages often end up in the police station, imams are stopped by the patrol service for no reason.
