Suspects of attack on rabbis detained

On January 19, Moscow law enforcement officials found suspects in the beating of rabbis Alexander Lakshin and Ruven Kuravsky, IA REGNUM reports.

On the evening of January 19, 2005, employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of the North-East Administrative District and the Department of Internal Affairs of the Maryina Roshcha district detained three young unemployed Muscovites at their place of residence. "As a result of the investigative and operational measures taken on January 19, Dmitry Rozanov, born in 1983, Andrei Maksimov, born in 1986, and Denis Dubov, were detained on suspicion of beating two rabbis - Alexander Lakshin and Fomiuk Iliyaga," the Interfax report says .

On the fact of the beating, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation .

The detainees are reported to be testifying.
