In Nalchik, as a result of the assault, seven people were killed, who, according to the security forces, were members of the Yarmouk jamaat.

From the evening of the 25th until the morning of January 27th in Nalchik, the siege by law enforcement officers of a residential building at ul. Severnaya 19, in one of the apartments of which there were seven people, according to the security officials - members of the Yarmuk Jamaat. On January 27, as a result of the assault, they were all killed. At a press conference held on the same day, Nikolai Shepel, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District, and Khachim Shogenov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic, stated that the result of the operation was "the liquidation of one of the most dangerous extremist formations." According to them, the assault was launched because the militants planned to break through the cordon. Among those killed was Yarmuk leader Muslim Ataev, his body was identified. N. Shepel and H. Shogenov categorically denied the earlier information that there was a child in the apartment. They also refused to answer the question of how many women were among the militants (according to REGNUM - three).
