The Ivanovo governor asks the patriarch to extend the powers of Archbishop Ambrose

Governor of the Ivanovo Region Vladimir Tikhonov sent a request to Patriarch Alexy II to extend the term of office of Archbishop Ambrose (Shchurov) of Ivanovo and Kineshma. The archbishop, who turns 75 this year, in accordance with the Charter of the Russian Orthodox Church, must write a petition for retirement.
