Meeting of the youth-student round table "Tolerance and ethno-confessional relations"

February 26, 2005 at the Institute of Management of the Orenburg State Agrarian University a meeting of the youth-student "round table" "Tolerance and ethno-confessional relations" was held.

The organizers are the Regional Administration Committee for Nationalities and Relations with Religious Organizations, the Inter-Institute Center for Ethnopolitical Studies of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Management of the OSAU.

The participants of the event are scientists, graduate students and students of various universities of the city: OGPU, OSU, OSAU, Orenburg Institute of Moscow State Law Academy, Institute of Arts. L. and M. Rostropovich.

The problems of education of tolerance in society, the reasons for the growth of political, ethnic and religious extremism, the prevention of extremism in modern society are discussed, the main directions of state ethno-confessional policy are analyzed as a factor in the education of tolerance in society. The listeners showed great interest in the messages revealing the role of tolerance in maintaining interreligious dialogue.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to organize a permanent scientific and practical seminar - "Youth School of Tolerance. The reports made during the round table are planned to be published.
