An anti-fascist picket took place in St. Petersburg

March 19, 2004 in St. Petersburg, at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and Malaya Konyushennaya Street, as part of the All-Russian Week Against Fascism, a sanctioned anti-fascist picket was held.

The action, organized by the "Youth Human Rights Movement", was attended by activists of the youth "Yabloko", the St. Petersburg League of Anarchists, the Anti-War Committee and the United Party of Soldiers' Mothers.

It was attended by about 15 - 20 people. The participants were holding Russian flags and posters with the slogans "Together fight fascism", "Stop racism", "Let's clean the city from the brown plague", etc. Activists set up a stand at the picket site, where each sympathizer of the picket participants could leave their inscription against racism in the city and country.

Three participants of the picket were detained by the police ("for crossing the road in the wrong place") and taken to the 79th police department.
