The Arkhangelsk diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church does not intend to tolerate the presence of representatives of "non-traditional religions" in the region's correctional institutions (by the way, all of them have Orthodox prayer rooms or churches). The head of the diocesan press service, Fr. Valery said: “If representatives of non-traditional religions erect houses of worship in places of deprivation of liberty, then we will regard this as a violation of the agreement between the Russian Orthodox Church and the penitentiary institution. The Orthodox Church does not perform the function of informing the administration about other religious organizations, but in personal conversations our priests discuss with the leadership of the colonies non-traditional religions and the danger they may pose.
