At a town-planning meeting in the administration of the Ulyanovsk region, it was decided to create a fountain-pool on Lenin Square. The pool will be built on the site where it was previously planned to recreate the cathedral, the construction of which was recently stopped .

According to the architects, the cheapest way would be to make a fountain at the construction site, because. the foundation pit for the foundation of the cathedral has already been dug. The drawings of the fountain located in front of the Lenin Memorial in the city center were taken as a basis, only the new fountain will be provided with lighting. In summer, it will be possible to swim in the pool of the fountain; for the convenience of citizens, changing rooms and dry closets will be located nearby. Construction is scheduled to be completed at the end of June.
