It is significant that the conflict occurred during the official visits of President Putin to Armenia, and Governor Tkachev (together with the ataman of the Kuban Cossack army Gromov) to the United States, where the latter met with the descendants of Cossack emigrants regarding the return of historical Cossack regalia to the Kuban.
