On April 6, 2004, three Albanians Ali Chokhodari, Ionuzi Ervis and Nanai Elvis, students of the University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, were beaten up in the center of the city in Voronezh. The incident became known only on April 11, 2004.
Students speaking their native language were attacked by about ten shaven-headed guys in black jackets and beaten. "The attackers, and these were local skinheads, were shouting out nationalist slogans: 'Foreigners, go home ,'" said Vladimir Shcherbakov, dean of the international faculty of the educational institution.
Albanian students suffered moderate injuries, one of them has a concussion. The university administration filed a complaint about the incident with the Central District Department of Internal Affairs.
A criminal case has been initiated .
