The FSB disrupted a rally in Ufa

On April 16, 2005, the Bashkir opposition was going to hold another rally in Ufa. However, due to the actions of the FSB officers, the rally was disrupted. On Saturday morning, leaders of the Coordinating Council of the United Opposition Ramil Bignov and Anatoly Dubovsky were summoned for questioning as witnesses to the regional department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. The interrogation of the opposition lasted almost six hours.

As a result, a demonstration was held on Lenin Square in support of the presidents of Bashkiria and Russia, the number of participants is estimated at 6 thousand people. 200 members of the opposition were present on the square, but there were no clashes. During the rally, another leader of the Bashkir opposition Airat Dilmukhametov was detained, the detention was made due to the fact that Dilmukhametov did not appear on the summons to the investigator in the morning.

After the end of the rally, Anatoly Dubovsky and Ramil Bignov spoke to reporters and spoke about the interrogation at the FSB, expressed confidence that the main May Day rally would take place, even if they were constantly invited to investigative actions. At the same time, they called on supporters to refrain from illegal methods of fighting Rakhimov, so as not to give a reason to completely decapitate the opposition.
