A native of Peru was beaten in Murmansk

On April 21, 2005, in Murmansk, two young people (16-year-old Yakov Stemplevsky and his friend, 25-year-old Minin) beat Diaz Alvites Luis Enrique, a native of Peru.

Teenagers saw a Hispanic in the store "Gemini", where he was shopping. When the Peruvian left the store and went to his house on st. General Zhurba, the teenagers followed him. According to the victim, one of them shouted "Russia for the Russians!" , cursed and brandished a baseball bat (which, as it turned out during the investigation, he borrowed from his friend, the security guard at the Gemini store). Having caught up with the victim, the attackers began to beat him with a bat and kicks.

The victim, seen by a neighbor, was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The attackers were detained the next day, April 22. On the fact of the attack, a criminal case was opened under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national, racial or religious hatred).

According to one of the attackers, the Peruvian (who has been living in Russia for 17 years, has Russian citizenship, as well as a family and two children) reminded him of a “black man” who had deceived him in the market the day before. As Diego Alvarez later stated in his testimony at the trial, “These people did not pursue the goal of taking possession of my property, by their actions they wanted to show superiority over me due to the fact that I am not of Russian nationality. They didn’t care that someone could see them. That's probably what they were counting on . "

It is significant that the second participant in the attack, Minin, had already been tried for robbery in 2004, for which he was brought to administrative responsibility, which cost him a fine of one hundred rubles.

At the end of November 2005, the attackers were sentenced .
