It became known that on February 18, 2005, a court session was held in the Leninsky Court of the city of Ivanov, at which a citizen of Cameroon was found guilty under article 107 of part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Murder committed in a state of passion) and sentenced to three years probation for the murder of one of the attackers on him May 9, 2004 young people.

The accused, Alain-Didier Pagbe, a 32-year-old citizen of Cameroon, arrived in Ivanovo in 1996 and since then has been repeatedly attacked by skinheads. The most severe case happened to him in 2002, when he received 14 (!) stab wounds. This criminal case remains unsolved.

Initially, the case was qualified under Art. 105 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"), but the prosecutor's office abandoned this charge, reclassifying it to Art. 107. The lawyers insisted on the application of Art. 108 ("Murder committed in excess of the limits of necessary defense ..."), but this court refused.

The accused pleaded not guilty. None of those who attacked the Cameroonian was not only brought to justice, but, despite the filed application, the case was not even initiated. The defendant's lawyers V. Semenovsky and A. Baturin declined to comment. The injured party filed an appeal.
