On May 3, 2005, 6 people were detained in Kazan distributing leaflets, which contained a protest against the arbitrariness of military registration and enlistment offices, the abolition of military departments in universities and against the liquidation of military departments in Russian universities.
A source in the Vakhitovsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Kazan said that the detainees were Muscovites. The detainees assure that they "did not distribute anything, but simply walked around, and do not understand why they were detained" . The press service of the city police department assured that the detention was carried out within the framework of the law, since no notification of the action was received by the city administration.
The detainees themselves call themselves representatives of the Moscow youth movement "PORA!".
